And then I thought “What’s one more?”

And that phrase is how I wound up expecting my third baby. That may not be exactly how it went, but you get the idea. My two sons are my favorite people in the world and the idea of another little person is very appealing.

So, to answer all the burning questions that I know you must have…

(But really to record these things for posterity.)

How far along? 20 weeks.
Due date? November 13th.
Boy or girl? We’re not finding out until delivery! And no, I have no preference, nor did I go into this venture trying to have one or the other.
Any intuition? Nope. If it matters at all, this pregnancy is very similar to my first, but not nearly as pleasant as my second. I’m pretty sure it’s human…
Cravings? I’m not much of a craving person, more a food aversion person, but salad. Lots and lots of salad. With grilled chicken, please.
Weight gain? 6 pounds.
Baby names? Not a clue!
Morning sickness? Tons.
What am I most excited about? The baby + not being pregnant anymore. Some people love it, I love how it ends. I’m willing to put in my 38+ weeks, but am very much looking forward to having my body back.
Will I start talking about baby stuff more? Probably not, this is more just a random life update (and why things have been a little (extra) quiet around here – zero energy and all of that).

Now, if I get a little applause for camping up the coast of California and Oregon with two small children and a husband in tow (while nearly five months pregnant), I’d really appreciate it. Thanks.

(I always worry that sarcasm doesn’t translate online, and that’s practically my second language…)

  7. Congrats lady! Hopefully the second half will fly by and before you know it, you’ll have a new, sweet little babe. And yes, kudos for camping… there’s NO WAY I would have done that 20 weeks preggo, but I also don’t already have two darling faces staring at me, begging to go… I’m sure that’s how it went down 🙂

      2. I’m not familiar with that spot, will have to add it to the list. Bummer about Crater Lake. They aren’t very dog friendly there, so the last time I went we drove to Diamond Lake, which was fabulous.

    1. Thank you! I really did get to enjoy being the one dictating all the meals, as I felt (selfishly) that at least one concession had to be made to me in light of my discomfort.

  17. Awe! So exciting! I always figured it gets fun when you’re outnumbered right? Haha! I do hope you’ll post updates as you go along!

    And kudos on the camping, period. Small children along makes you a saint and five months pregnant may make you a goddess! Ha!

    1. Thanks, you’re the best (I like goddess)! I think it’ll be fun, my older ones are old enough to be mostly sufficient, so that’s makes it slightly less frightening (though I am not even thinking about the sleep aspect yet).

      We were in the same place – yes, no, maybe… And I (hopefully) tell myself that no one regrets having another children, but I might regret it if I don’t (or always wonder).

  20. YAY for sarcasm! I LOVE it! Yes, definitely kudos to you for camping! I’m into hotels/motels in my old age! 🙂 How exciting to have a third little one coming along! I have three children. My thoughts on pregnancy? The best part…is labor, ’cause I know delivery (and the end of the pregnancy) are right around the corner, coming soon! Very soon!

    1. Thank you! I definitely prefer them. I think one of the marks of adulthood is not having to camp/use hostels anymore, though I enjoy it…to a point. Not enough to do it again soon!

  23. Yay!! Congrats..again. I was wondering how long it would be until you posted something w/o me having to bug you for more info. First off you are amazing. I don’t think I could have done the camping thing AT ALL while pregnant. I didn’t find out ahead of time for both kids and it was awesome. Looking forward to more photos and updates. I love them!!
