Soooo….it’s almost the new year. Assuming we all survive 12-21-12, there will plenty of good books to read in 2013. Here are ten I will be picking up (as hosted by The Broke and The Bookish), in no particular order.
10. Finding Camlann by Sean Pidgeon
9. Schroder by Amity Gage
8. The Good House by Ann Leary
7. The Interestings by Meg Wolitzer
6. Love Is a Canoe By Ben Schenk
5. The All Souls Trilogy conclusion (maybe?)
4. Frances and Bernard by Carlene Bauer
3. NOS4A2 by Joe Hill
2. The Fun Parts by Sam Lipsyte
1. Doctor Sleep by Stephen King (okay, and Joyland)
What are you looking forward to? Although my list isn’t in a specific order, I am most looking forward to the top three (funny how that happens).
Honorable mentions: the final Sookie book (so happy that series will be done), the new Neil Gaiman, the new Stephanie Perkins, and Walking Disaster.

Snap! We have a few of the same books in our reading stacks… no surprises there! Love is a Canoe looks good.

Great list! All of these titles sound interesting, am going to check them out. It’d be nice if the final volume of the All Souls trilogy comes out next year…although I’m waiting for the second book in paperback so it might be a while for me xP

I can’t wait for The Good House, some of what I’ve seen say it’s comedy, some say drama. It sounds like a good mix!

Oooh I didn’t know there was a new Joe Hill coming out. Might have to look into that one! I’m pretty psyched about Doctor Sleep though.

There is and it looks so good! I can’t wait for Doctor Sleep, September seems so far away (April does too, for that matter).

Thanks for visiting Jorie’s Reads… I like the Meg Wolitzer book’s cover 🙂 . I’ve yet to read anything by Joe Hill. Is his writing style similar to Stephen King’s?

Definitely check out Joe Hill! The Heart-Shaped Box is incredibly scary, and I mean that in a very good way. His Locke & Key graphic novels are excellent too.

I had a parenting fail the other day when I caught my 4 year old at my bookshelf reading Locke & Key. He loved it, but I still had to pull the “when you’re older” bit and take it away.

Looks like we have a lot in common! I can’t wait for Joe Hill and Neil Gaiman (and forgot to include Meg Wolitzer on my TTT list, but just preordered the book — sounds great!) I’ll check out some of your other choices as well. Great list!

Yesssss…. high-five! First time I’ve seen NOS4A2 on anyone’s Top Ten today. (Well besides mine!) And I’m not sure if I’m excited for the new Harkness book either. I was SO disappointed in #2… I actually haven’t even finished it yet. Hopefully I get around to it before the finale is published. GREAT picks!

I wasn’t disappointed, but I love history. And I enjoyed the edition of Gallowglass and am looking forward to learning more about him.

So many great titles and cover, many are new to me. I’ve seen Joe Hill’s book on a few lists and I need to give his books a try. Love is a Canoe sounds like a good one too. And hopefully we will see another All Souls book out in 2013!

Very much looking forward to NOS4A2 and Doctor Sleep. I probably have enough books on my kindle to get me through the year but, let’s face it, I’ll buy a ton more!
