Now Reading…

Good morning, bookworms! Fun fact: I had to check Katie’s (the authority on this, as far as I’m concerned) for whether book + worm is one word or two. It’s one. But on to the matter at hand – it’s Monday, April 6th, what are you reading?

I picked up an apocalyptic-meets-The Breakfast Club novel We All Looked Up by Tommy Wallach. So far, so good. Pretty much anything compared to The Breakfast Club gets my attention. The cover is also quite wonderful is an understated way. My other read is actually a re-read: The Winter Family by Clifford Jackman. I read my review copy a bit too far in advance and wanted a refresh before I post my review. Hint: I still like it. Why is it that authors not from the American west have such a beautiful understanding of it?

Monday Reading

So what are you reading?

  1. I love that I’m an expert on something. I’m going to add this to my list of fake accomplishments. In other news, Breakfast Club and apocalypse sounds utterly delicious. Neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed.

  2. I have been pining for The Winter Family since I first saw that gorgeous cover months ago. Can’t wait to read your thoughts when you post them. On both books, actually, I’d not heard of the other one, but am intrigued by that cover as well. Thanks for putting it on my radar!

    1. You’re welcome. I think between the two, The Winter Family is better. YA can be hit or miss with me, and while I mostly liked We All Looked Up, I found it a tad melodramatic.

  3. I just got We All Looked Up on audio and will be starting it soon. Haven’t heard too much about The Winter Family.. sounds good though. Especially if it’s worth a reread.

    1. I don’t necessarily know if it is, it’s more procrastination on my part. I got the ARC way too far in advance and started reading it in Dec/early January. When I finished it, I should’ve reviewed it, but I didn’t. So now…reread.
