Aragorn and Arwen, how could I forget them! I almost listed Henry and Clare, but I thought their relationship wouldn’t exist in the real world because they would neve rhave met. I probably should have listed them anyway because they are one of my favorite couples.

I totally forgot about Sam and Rosie – the LOTR couples seem to be easy to overlook!

I don’t know about Sayuri and the Chairman…
I had Clare and Henry too. Even without the time traveling, I think they deal with a lot of “real” couple issues and that’s what makes me think that they could possibly, maybe, make it in the real world.

I considered Sayuri and the Chairman as well, but discarded them because I feel like the Chairman didn’t really know her (nor did she know him, he was an orphaned girl’s fantasy father-figure). He was struck by her beauty and wanted to have access to her, but I think Nobu had more of a relationship with her as a person.

I always felt bad for Nobu, his intentions were more honorable than most!

I haven’t read the book, but loved Sayuri and the Chairman in the movie! And I love Anne and the Captain… and Mr. Rochester and Jane Eyre. And some of the others. Good list!

Both Persuasion and Jane Eyre rank among my favorite books of all time. My heart still hurts for them when I reread the books, even though I know it turns out alright in the end 🙂
