R.eaders I.mbibing P.eril VII (RIP VII)

You know that feeling you get when you find something absolutely perfect, that is the feeling I got when I found out about R.eaders I.mbibing P.eril VII, or RIP VII for short. It is a reading challenge that runs from September 1-October 31.

The purpose of R.eaders I.mbibing P.eril VII is to enjoy books and movies/television that could be classified as:

Mystery.
Suspense.
Thriller.
Dark Fantasy.
Gothic.
Horror.
Supernatural.
Or anything sufficiently moody that shares a kinship with the above.

It’s perfect, it gives me an excuse to read the books I already love during my favorite season of the year (on a side note, I am so ready for fall it isn’t even funny) and share it with others. Ideal. I am signing up for this level (which means 4+ books):

Here’s what I’m proposing to read. I’ll update each with it’s corresponding link as I review it.

1. Nevermore by Kelly Creagh

2. Pet Sematary by Stephen King (in conjunction with The Stephen King Project)

3. IT by Stephen King (in conjunction with the #ITalong)

3. The Lantern by Deborah Lawrenson

4. The White Forest by Adam McOmber

5. The Little Stranger by Sarah Waters

I’ll also be watching a handful of scary things. I happen to know that next up in my netflix queue is Stephen King’s IT, so I am guaranteed one.

  1. I read Gone Girl earlier this summer – fantastic read. If you’ve never read any Flynn I’d definitely recommend her backlist too.

Great list. Happy reading to you!

  2. So wonderful that you found us, thanks for joining in!!! And what great choices of books to read. We group read The Lantern last year and really enjoyed it. If you manage to work it in you should pop over and read the author Q&A she did with us after we finished the read. It was something she offered to do based on some of the things we were posting about and it was really nice. Don’t read it before though…spoilers. 🙂 Here is the link:
