As a librarian, I will never be rich. Not even a little. But I’d probably spend all my money on books anyway, so that may be a good thing.
Despite my small net worth, I still manage to continue filling up my bookshelves (as one does). Four sentences in and I know you are already dying to find out my auto-buy authors. For long time readers, this list will just shock you*.
10. Cormac McCarthy. Always a solid option.
09, Kate Morton. I was a little hesitant to include this one, but as I’ve read everything she’s published and I intend to buy the forthcoming The Lake House (which will decidedly not feature Keanu Reeves…probably).
08. Neil Gaiman.
07. Charlotte Bronte. Another edition of Jane Eyre is out? Consider it bought.
06. Rachel Bach. All the rave reviews of Fortune’s Pawn were well deserved. A female driven space opera is hard to find.
05. Patrick deWitt. Until he publishes something I don’t like, which I hope is never.
04. Richard Russo. My writer of small towns hero.
03. Donald Ray Pollock. When he publishes again, I will be all over that book.
02. John Irving. Even is his forthcoming novel sounds…disjointed and odd.
01. Stephen King. Obviously. I stole this from last week’s post, but when it works… Despite my best intentions, I still don’t own everything he’s published.
Whose books do you always buy? Anyone else going broke? Quite honestly, between my kindle and paper book purchases, it can get quite pricey. To see the rest of the lists, check here.

I’m definitely partial to Irving’s old stuff. I haven’t read everything, so I can’t pinpoint where the charm wore off… maybe The Fourth Hand?

I would’ve been very surprised if Stephen King wasn’t somewhere at the top of your list (even though the photo was a giveaway) 😉 If my list was longer, Neil Gaiman would’ve definitely made the list. And I’m excited for the new Kate Morton book coming out in the autumn! 🙂

Neil Gaiman FTW I say!! I want to read all his books…but, zomg, he has so many so it’ll probably take me a while. (I’ve mostly devoured his YA/MG ones, so far. hehe. But I will get brave and attempt his adult ones soon!) AND YES BOOKS ARE EXPENSIVE. *cries*
